About Therapeutic Workshops

Therapeutic workshops are when a group of people meet for a few hours and do activities together to explore a theme related to well being. The activities might consist of education, drama, movement, art making, writing, relaxation techniques, and discussion. Themes might include self-care, self-esteem, healthy relationships, self-exploration, and achieving goals.

Because there is not the same amount of time for trust and bonding to build as they do over time in group therapy, the issues explored in workshops tend not to delve too deeply into emotional territory. However, many participants have reported being pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they felt to share about themselves and by how much healing they experienced in a short time. While workshops are therapeutic, they are not therapy.

Workshops run periodically, so please contact me or join my mailing list to find out when they are scheduled.

Also, I love customizing workshops for various groups, so don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to discuss having me facilitate one for your group. Examples of groups I have collaborated with to facilitate workshops for: Michele’s Granola, Kacadas, the now defunct Baltimore Job Hunters Group, and many private group therapy practices.
